A break from putting toys into a box and taking them out again.

Petey loves Madeline as much as she loves him!

Madeline spied Nory off in the distance.

She moved from sitting up to pushing off the keyboard.

This evening we let her gum a cracker, which made her very excited.

All in all, it was another happy day!

Three pictures, early August edition

As usual, Madeline was all smiles this morning.

She tried to crawl to get cheetah, but ended up scooting herself backward until she was under the chair.

This afternoon Madeline helped Summer edit her thesis, as I was late coming home from the office.

Great loves and giggles

Today's pictures feature Madeline's current loves: Petey ...

And aside from her two great loves, she's becoming more positively emotive (even as her "transition" fussiness continues). She giggled this afternoon when I kissed her cheek, and giggled even more when Summer tickled and blew raspberries on her belly.

Transition

Madeline seems to be going through a transition period. She wakes up at intervals throughout the night to eat; she woke up early again this morning, happily babbling; she's full of energy and demands lots of attention. She continues to crawl backwards, and ended up entirely on the wood floor after this picture was taken:

And she's loving the keyboard probably even more than any of her toys right now -- she bangs away with great pizzazz.

It's fun having Madeline at the dinner table now that she can sit up easily -- though perhaps more fun for me, sitting across from her, than for Summer, whose close proximity makes her hair a ready target.
