Swimming & Eagles!

This morning was Madeline's first swimming lesson. She napped right up to the start time, so we were a few minutes late. Once we'd integrated into the class, though, Madeline seemed very into it. Her looks ranged from restrained happiness, like this ...

... to cheerful concentration ...

... to serious concentration, as when she was tasked with pulling and kicking to the rubber ducky I'd tossed:

Most of the lesson was spent singing songs, moving around in a circle or line, and encouraging basic motions like grasping-and-pulling, kicking, grabbing onto the edge of the pool, and jumping in. Madeline might have been concentrating too hard to enjoy herself fully at times, but I had a blast.

When the lesson was over, we began preparing for the Eagles' season opener. We dressed Madeline appropriately, and she put her game face on.

Madeline quite enjoyed the spectacle and pageantry (or just playing with Summer).

When the Eagles scored I sang her the fight song and tried to high-five her, but she was too transfixed by the game. After the victory, though, she celebrated by crawling across the living room.
