Two years old!

Earlier this week, life was busy but uneventful.

Today, though, was special.  Two years ago today, Madeline turned zero.

And, today, Madeline turned two!

Madeline has been looking forward to her birthday for weeks, and this morning she could hardly believe the day had finally arrived.  "Maddie's birthday soon?" she asked.  "Have cupcakes?"

So she did: she brought cupcakes to school, where the kiddos were also celebrating Valentine's Day and pajama day!

Back at home, she got exciting presents, like this sled ...

Anna and Neal, visiting from State College, also helped Madeline celebrate!  (They got in late last night, so this morning Madeline's main non-birthday-related question was when she would finally get to see "Anna and Meal.")

Finally, Madeline's post-dinner cupcake-and-candles proved one stimulation too much and bedtime ensued. At bedtime, Madeline said she'd had a happy birthday indeed.
