Energy-filled day

This morning I made french toast. Madeline approved.

Before our usual farmers market trip, Summer went to get her hair cut. I read Madeline some books, and she giggled at the clever rhymes of my childhood favorite Tyrannosaurus Was a Beast.

We ended up leaving a little late for the farmers market, but not too late for the delicious food truck or for fun in the park. On the way we met HeiĆ°a and Alexander, and we all joined forces.

At the park, Madeline got in some crawling, going after everyone's drinks.

She also enjoyed some quality time with Summer.

(Note the food truck in the background.)

On the way home we stopped by the playground on our block. Madeline enjoyed swinging.

Summer and I each took a turn holding Madeline for a ride down the twisty slide. I was too big to slide properly, but Madeline didn't mind.

Summer had more success.

Overall, Madeline quite enjoyed the playground.

Back at home, she continued to romp. As we played in baby jail, she excitedly announced her intention to climb me, and proceeded to do so.

Tomorrow is our first swim class(!), so tonight Madeline took a bath. After the park and playground she was rather dirty, and we can't have her casting off a cloud of dirt when she enters the pool tomorrow. As much as Madeline tends to enjoy the water, today she was even more interested in climbing out of the bath -- it's been an energy-filled day.
