This morning we introduced Madeline to her new swing so she'd be familiar before we actually tried to use it. She marveled at the contraption's mobile and mirror.
She was full of energy and not yet ready to nap. Summer spread out her blankets and toys. But Madeline just wanted to practice walking, and she was content to grasp at her outfit rather than her toys.
We also spent some time in the yard. Summer and Madeline played while I planted tomatoes, zucchini, and basil. We have lots of snap pea sprouts now, and even more mixed greens!
Madeline also got to spend some quality time with her middle-namesake.
And she and Summer found the lone cloud wandering the bright blue sky.
Back inside, Madeline had a successful nap in the swing. She woke up to eat but still seemed sleepy, so we walked to Three Sisters for ice cream. Delicious for us, nap-inducing for Madeline: everyone won.
