Despite the rough night, Madeline had a great day at daycare. She turned the pages as her teachers read books, she played with puzzles, and she said "turtle" and "duck."
After daycare, we went over to Julia's for a delicious dinner. And after that, when we came home, Madeline tried on a swimsuit sent in anticipation of summer. She approved.
As we were getting ready to whisk her off to bed, she insisted on one last game: holding up the animals in her zoo puzzle for us to name. Hippopotamus!
