More parks!

This morning Madeline and I headed downtown to check on the water levels at Waterplace Park again.  We also stopped off at Rhode Island's only national park, the Roger Williams National Memorial.  Madeline tried to march on the state house ...

... but she got distracted by some dandelions.  In any event, she enjoyed her romp.

Later today, we went to an open house to begin checking out the housing market here (in case we, you know, get jobs).  The house was something of a bust, but it is near the lovely, waterfront Pawtuxet Park.

Madeline found more dandelions there.

And she played on the playground.

Her new activity today was building piles.  Here, she's piling sand on the base of the slide.

We wandered from the park into Pawtuxet Village and stopped by a coffee shop for a treat.

Then we returned to the park to munch.

Madeline finished munching and took off toward the playground.

That was today's excitement.  The day finished up with a bath and a couple of bedtime books, including this one featuring Bo the cheetah.  Madeline can identify the stuffed cheetah and the pictured cheetah, and she can say "cheetah" too.

  1. Hey, that is one more National Park than we have in DE (tho' Carper keeps trying). Hope the "owie" on her chin is soon gone and forgotten. That is a favorite place for them. I have stitches from two falls under mine. She looks so happy and confident as she strides off...you two have been wonderful parents.
