Busy day with lots of walking

Today was not particularly planned, but turned out busy nonetheless.  First, we went out for brunch with Arturo and Glenn.  Then we went to count the still-nonexistent seals at Field's Point (Madeline napped through this).  From Field's Point, we wended our way through Edgewood to the Zoo.  There we saw and did all sorts of things.

Madeline lectured us all about zebras, especially how they like to sneak into unsuspecting photos from the right side of the frame.

She admired the swimming seals (unlike the seals in the bay, the seals at the zoo appear reliably).

She sat on the concrete elephant.

She wondered what on earth was up with the weird miniature donkey.

She marveled at the giant anteater.

And she attracted a hungry snake-neck turtle with her tender, tasty-looking toddler finger.

When we'd exhausted the zoo, we came home and Madeline spent the rest of the afternoon stacking things on top of other things and walking.

She was very proud of herself for her walking especially.

And rightly so: though she sometimes faltered ...

... all in all, she had quite a lot of success.

After a bath, Madeline reflected on her busy day and was glad.
