Development and smiles

This morning Madeline woke us up gleefully shouting, "DADADADADADADADADADADA!!!!!" The "da" syllable is her newest toy, and she played with it frequently throughout the day. Needless to say, I'm fond of this development. She does seem to associate it with me, though the association is perhaps tenuous.

We've continued giving Madeline little bits of what we're eating so she can explore tastes and textures (and ingest a bit here and there). This morning we had some sweet potato, which she loved.

She also loved her brief time in the bouncer as Summer and I prepared for our standard Saturday AM trip to the farmers market.

And she was excited to be in the park, too, once we'd purchased veggies and such and then settled down with our lunch.

Madeline seems to prefer crawling practice on grass -- better traction? -- so she was ready to go as soon as we set her down.

(Though she did stop to chatter for a bit: "DADADADADADADADA!!!!!!!!!")

It gets easier and easier for her to push up onto all fours and rock.

But, of course, she's not quite at the point of crawling yet.

Back at home, Madeline was happy to play for a while.

She grabbed my beard and tugged with excitement when Nory happened by (just outside the frame).

Next, she pulled off my glasses -- a favorite game these days.

This was another day of developments and smiles, and so a good one.
