Beach day

Today I didn't have court, so we took the opportunity to get in some beach time before the rain returned.  First, though, Madeline had to nap.

Then she played happily as we got ready.

Soon, she could sense that something interesting was going to happen.

And interesting it was.  On the way to the beach, we met a big iguana.

On the beach we staked out a spot, and Summer told a perplexed Madeline that it isn't advisable to eat sand.

Being buried in it, though, is another matter.

Then we all jaunted off into the ocean.  Madeline seemed somewhat overwhelmed.  Despite her shell-shock, she seemed enthusiastic about licking the saltwater from around her mouth.

As she began to recover from her ocean experience, her expression said that after the ocean she was ready for whatever might come her way.

She was also very tired.

So we regrouped in our room and Madeline napped.  While we were holed up, it rained; when we left for an early dinner at the hotel's oceanside eatery, it stopped.

After dinner, we strolled on the beach.

We tried to get a good group picture, but it wasn't happening.  Oh well, another time.
