Headbands

This afternoon Madeline was weirdly cranky.  She really wanted to water the garden ("Help! Water!") but threw unpredictable mini-tantrums as she did so.

Maybe she was hungry?  I showed her boiling pasta ("Hot!").

Sure enough, after dinner she was much happier.

We received a package of headbands today (useful now that Madeline's hair's so long), and they provided most of our pre-bed entertainment.

The headbands also hold my too-large glasses onto Madeline's head.

At bedtime we read Rain Song and "Baby"; by the halfway point of the second book Madeline was conking out in my arms.
