Mostly happy

Today Madeline woke up happy and stayed that way for much of the day.

There was a notable exception to her happiness, though: this morning Summer took a few hours at Brown, and a too-full bottle caused some serious consternation. After a spell of banshee-screaming, she reset, settled, and ate happily. And then we went for a walk. The daffodils are blooming!

When we returned from our walk, Madeline showed no interest in leaving the wrap. Instead, she stayed tucked up and napping while I had some lunch.

Summer came back from Brown, and Madeline woke up. She ate, napped some more, and then woke up again. This time she was full of positive energy so we took to the floor. Madeline did a bit of mostly-assisted-rolling as well as some serious-head-lifting, trying-to-crawl, and heavily-assisted-walking.

She looked serious while posing with Summer ...

... but was very playful most of the time.

When she was finally tired out, Madeline analyzed the world from the floor's point of view. She found it quite interesting.

To try to get a better idea what's going through and happening to Madeline's malleable mind right now, we'd like to read up on child development. Would anyone care to recommend a book?

  1. Oh, these are so wonderful. We need to get our dates down for coming up for a squeeze. I cannot remember the dr's name but he used to be on TV occasionally and was a well known pediatrician...he also graduated from Princeton a long time ago. He seemed to be a most reliable fellow...Robert or Barry Brazelton of Brereton or something like that. I will try to find it and send it on to you. xoxo N
