Madeline had a fun day today. This morning, as usual, she was full of energy!
We had to take her in for her flu booster, which she endured quite stoically (crying only briefly, until something shiny caught her attention). After that, it was just a good day at daycare that apparently involved some assisted fingerpainting -- fun!
Then we stopped by home for just a little while, to prep for the neuroscience department holiday party at the swanky Hope Club. Madeline's snowman t-shirt probably would not have been acceptable ("Denim of any sort, casual sports clothing and casual/sport footwear are never acceptable at the Club."), so we decked her out in a sparkly red knit dress and black tights. Summer wore a sparkly sweater, and I wore my new festive tie.
We took a few moments before the party to pose in front of our own tree.
At the Hope Club, Madeline's energy level was only exceeded by the attention she received. Sadly, though, her pictures are mostly with her boring old parents, and even those are blurry (AND none seems to reflect the big, impressive sailing-ship paintings that took up much of the wall space) (BUT there are a couple good group shots; let me know if you're interested).
When it was well past Madeline's bedtime and her energy gave way to sleepiness, we said our farewells to the Hope Club, pausing in the lobby for one last picture before hitting the street.
"Ooh la la" - it reminds me of an even swankier Whist Club. Of course we are interested in the pictures you mentioned. Did you have a good time? I like M's Christmas dress ... and your new tie is quite festive as well Max! Love from Us...xo N
