Waving to animals

Illness update: Madeline's fever seems to be all gone, though her stuffiness persists.  In all she seems to be very much on the mend.

Today's narrative: this morning while I made pancakes Madeline and Summer read books.

Instead of getting baby pancakes, today Madeline got a letter pancake!

We drove around so Madeline could sleep, picked up some Adopt-A-Family gifts, and stopped off for a quick zoo visit on the way home.  Even in a little time, Madeline waved to a lot of animals.

She spotted the wild dogs ...

... and just pointed them out to us without waving.

She waved to the elephants as they waited to be let into their elephant house.

She walked to the seal habitat ...

... spotted the seals ...

and waved to them.

She seemed not to realize the alien-looking giraffes were animals until this nice zookeeper fed carrots to Sukari.

The elephants, though, got a second wave inside their house.

That's about it for today's events.  The day did feature a significant development: Madeline began proudly pointing out trees and announcing, "Tree!"
