Rough day

Babykins and I had a rough day today. As I put it in an email to Summer, "awake = crying." And asleep = on me. Which is to say I could barely do anything.

There were a few exceptions. Babykins remained calm enough for us to do our first just-the-two-of-us trip to the grocery store. Of course, I was so nervous about the excursion that I forgot some key items and had to run out again once Summer was home.

Also, babykins managed to stay explosion-free for a couple rather short tummy-times. She really does seem to be gearing up to crawl. Nory was interested in the mobile-baby development:

Babykins now gets some good push with those arms.

And she's starting to be able to tripod (or, here, quadrupod) decently.

But as you can see, her main interest is crawling as soon as babily possible.

She clearly realizes, though, that she doesn't quite have the hang of it yet.

Babykins provided her first real smiles when Summer came home. We had over friend HeiĆ°a and her little guy Alexander for dinner and mayhem -- pizza-chomping, cat-chasing, and babykins-entertaining -- which was a blast. Afterward babykins did nothing but smile for a while, until it was time for bed.
